Ijaba is begin augustus loops geworden, het aftellen naar het F-nest kan beginnen. Inmiddels is Joke Geurtsen per augustus mede-eigenaar van de kennel Kani Akilah en krijgen de pups ook deze prefix. De volgende loopsheid wordt ongeveer rond februari 2016 verwacht.
At the start of August Ijaba started her heat, so the planning of our F-litter starts. Meanwhile Joke Geurtsen and I are co-owners of the kennelname Kani Akilah, our puppies will have this prefix. The next heat will be expected around february 2016.

De coursing in Rijssen was succesvol voor de Kani Akilah’s, Edjin, James en Dax vielen in de prijzen, Jali was 2e en Floyd, Duncan, Ijaba en Bentley liepen allemaal hun rondes uit. Aan Daka is het coursen nog niet besteed, wie weet ooit 😉
The coursing in Rijssen was succesfull for the Kani Akilah’s. Edjin, James and Dax won a price, Jali was 2nd and Floyd, Duncan, Ijaba and Bentley did two full rounds. Daka does not understand it yet 😉

Pinkstertentoonstelling Arnhem, aanwezig waren Daka, James, Eno, Edjin, Bentley en Ijaba. Daka en Eno behaalden en Uitmuntend, James werd 4e met een Uitmuntend en Edjin, Bentley en Ijaba kregen een zeer goed.
CAC/CACIB Arnhem, present were Daka, James, Eno, Edjin, Bentley and Ijaba. Daka and Eno got a excellent and no placement, James was 4th Excellent and Edjin, Bentley and Ijaba got a Very Good.

De laatste resultaten van de EOAD zijn binnen, Azuma, Daka en Bentley zijn vrij getest. Ook Sani en Kani (vaders B, C en E nest) waren al getest en vrij bevonden, wat betekend dat alle nakomelingen uit het B, C en E nest EOAD: clear zijn
Last results of the EOAD tests are in. Azuma, Daka and Bentley tested clear. Sani and Kani also have been tested and both are clear, which means all offspring from our B, C and E litter are EOAD clear 🙂

Op 19 april hebben we met een groep Ridgebacks, waaronder een flink aantal Kani Akilah’s gewandeld bij het Leesten in Apeldoorn. Prachtig weer, mooie omgeving en blije honden, wat wil je nog meer.
The 19th of April we had a walk with a group Ridgebacks, mainly Kani Akilah’s, in Apeldoorn. Lovely weather, nice surroundings and happy dogs, all we want.

De nakomelingendag van de RRCN werd vandaag gehouden, 8 pups uit het E-nest waren aanwezig, alleen Ukkie en Enyi konden er niet bij zijn. Uiteraard was Azuma ook mee.
Today we had our annual offspringday of our breedclub. My e-litter was invited and so 8 out of 10 were present.

Vandaag, 9 april, op Kani zijn verjaardag zou Kanyo zijn tweede kans krijgen, een 2e operatie om een insuloom te verwijderen. Helaas liep het anders, de tumor was zo klein dat deze niet makkelijk te vinden was. Uiteindelijk is het gevonden dicht in de buurt van de aorta, bij het verwijderen ervan is er een snee in de aorta gekomen waardoor Kanyo het helaas niet heeft overleefd.
Today, the 9th of April, on Kani’s birthday, it was supposed to be a second change for Kanyo. A second removal of an isuloma. Sadly it all went different, the tumor was so small and not easy to find. They found it close to the aorta and sadly the removal did not work, the aorta was hit and Kanyo died.

Ilse, Joke en ik zijn 2 dagen naar de CAC/CACIB Goes geweest. Naast de shows hebben we ook heerlijk op het strand gewandeld met een bende ridgebacks, kortom weer eens genoten van een ouderwets weekend showen. Daka behaalde op dag 1 een 2e plaats uitmuntend met een prachtig rapport, en de tweede dag een 4e plaats zeer goed, ook met een mooi rapport. Kani Akilah Elewa Edjin behaalde op de 1e dag een 3e plaats zeer goed en op de 2e dag een 3e plaats uitmuntend.
Ilse, Joke and I enjoyed a long weekend at the CAC/CACIB in Goes. We enjoyed the beach and went to the show for 2 days.Daka gained a 2nd place Excellent the first day and a 4th place Very good the second day, both days with lovely showreports. Kani Akilah Elewa Edjin was 3rd Very good the first day and 3rd Excellent the second day.

Vorig jaar hebben we de website vanaf juli niet meer bijgehouden, hieronder in het kort een opsomming van de highlights.
Last year we did not update our website as from july, here a short update about the highlights.
Kani Akilah Dahabu Bentley had zijn 1e dekking in kennel “Of Dao Phu Quoc” in Duitsland. 7 puppies werden er op 24 december 2014 geboren uit de combinatie Bentley x Choco. Helaas werd 1 pup doodgeboren. 6 sterke en grote reuen regeerden het huis. 1 reu met 3 cronen en 1 met een off-set ridge.
Kani Akilah Dahabu Bentley had his first mating, in Kennel “Of Dao Phu Quoc” in Germany. 7 puppies between Bentley and Choco were born on the 24th of December 2014. Sadly one male was stillborn. 6 strong and big boys rocked the house. 1 had 3 crowns and one had an off-set ridge.
